Zlatan Ibrahimovic finally announces the team he has chosen to play in

Manchester United have confirmed the signing of Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a one-year contract.

Ibrahimovic took it upon himself to announce on Thursday that he had agreed to joined United, posting a message on Instagram that read: “Time to let the world know. My next destination is Manchester United.”


The 34-year-old travelled to Manchester on Friday to wrap up the free transfer and United released a statement in the evening stating Ibrahimovic was their man. It read: “Manchester United is delighted to announce the signing of Swedish international striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Ibrahimovic, 34, made 180 appearances for Paris Saint-Germain, scoring 156 goals. He has won championships in four different leagues since beginning his professional career with Malmo in 1999. Zlatan represented his country 116 times, scoring 62 goals, before announcing his retirement from international football last month.”

The player himself said: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining Manchester United and am looking forward to playing in the Premier League. It goes without saying that I cannot wait to work with José Mourinho once again. He is a fantastic manager and I am ready for this new and exciting challenge. I have thoroughly enjoyed my career so far and have some great memories. I am now ready to create more special memories in England.”

Ibrahimovic is the second player to join United since José Mourinho took over as manager, following the £25m capture of defender Eric Bailly from Villarreal. Ibrahimovic worked with Mourinho at Internazionale during the 2008-2009 season, when the club won the Serie A title. Overall, the striker scored 25 goals in 35 appearances under Mourinho.

Patrick Ekeng: Doctor charged with manslaughter of late Cameroon international

The Romanian public prosecutor has charged emergency doctor Elena Duta with the manslaughter of former Cameroon midfielder Patrick Ekeng.

Ekeng, 26, collapsed during a league match for Dinamo Bucharest in May and died of heart failure.

The prosecutor said Duta, the emergency medical specialist in the ambulance which took Ekeng to hospital, made no attempt to resuscitate the player.

Hospital staff were unable to resuscitate him on his arrival.

An autopsy showed the player was suffering from multiple serious heart problems, but the Bucharest prosecutor said: “Even if among Patrick Ekeng’s causes of death were the cardiac problems he suffered from, by her unjustified inaction Elena Duta removed any chance of survival.

“She did not evaluate the footballer’s state of health and made no attempt at resuscitation.”

The prosecutor’s office quoted forensic scientists as saying 95% of people with similar heart problems survive cardiac arrest if defibrillation is administered within 60 seconds.

“The chances of survival drop by 5.5% with every minute,” prosecutors said.

Ekeng fell to the floor in the 70th minute of a televised Romanian league match between Dinamo and Viitorul.

He was pronounced dead in hospital two hours later.

Cameroon: 15 killed in suicide bombing in the North

At least 15 people were killed after a Boko Haram suicide bomber blew himself up in the town of Djakana near the Nigerian border, a security source said on Thursday.

"Seven people were killed immediately, including the bomber. 8 others later succumbed to their wounds", the security source said. "Others who were wounded are in hospital. We fear the number of victims could rise."

Most of the victims were members of a local vigilante group tasked with hunting down Boko Haram fighters.

"They were gathered in a video room when the attacker entered and triggered his explosives," the security source said.
Boko Haram's seven-year insurgency has left at least 20,000 people dead in Nigeria and neighbouring Niger, Chad and Cameroon, and made more than 2.6 million homeless.

Visitors to the US May Be Asked for Social Media Information

U.S. may screen foreign travelers’ Facebook, Twitter accounts

SAN FRANCISCO — The government’s next plan to curb terrorism involves snooping around the Facebook profiles of foreign travelers.

Non-citizens traveling to the U.S. on a visa waiver could be asked about their online presence and social media profiles — but not their account passwords — by U.S. Customs and Border Patrol. Though CBP already screens foreign travelers with in-person interviews and database checks, collecting social media accounts is specifically meant to track activity that could pose threats to “national security,” according to a proposal submitted by CBP and published in the Federal Registerlate last week.

“Collecting social media data will enhance the existing investigative process and provide DHS greater clarity and visibility to possible nefarious activity,” the proposal said.

The proposal indicates CBP recognizes the way individual attackers and extremist groups are using social media to spread terror. But some questioned whether it would be that effective, given visitors could choose to avoid divulging their social media handles.

FACEBOOK VOWS

Two recent mass shootings with connections to established terrorist groups – in San Bernardino and in Orlando, Fla. –   were at the hands of killers adept at using social media. The California attackers whose shooting rampage killed 14 posted messages of support to Islamic State on their social media profiles. Omar Mateen, whose massacre at a Orlando night club killed 49, pledged support to ISIS on Facebook.

Twitter, Facebook and other social media services have been criticized for allowing terrorists to spread their message and influence others on their platforms. The family of a victim of the Paris terrorist attacks in November sued Facebook, Google and Twitter, claiming the companies allowed the Islamic State to spread propaganda to attract and train new recruits and celebrate attacks.

Facebook called the lawsuit without merit and said anyone can report terrorist accounts or content to the service. “We work aggressively to remove such content as soon as we become aware of it,” a statement at the time read. Facebook did not respond to a request for comment for this article.

Twitter says users that promote terrorism are subject to permanent suspension from the platform.

“We condemn the use of Twitter to promote terrorism and the Twitter Rules make it clear that this type of behavior, or any violent threat, is not permitted on our service,” read a Twitter statement.

The government has already called upon Silicon Valley to do more to filter out terrorists. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., introduced a bill in December which would require tech companies to report online terrorist activity to law enforcement.

“We’re in a new age where terrorist groups like ISIL are using social media to reinvent how they recruit and plot attacks,” Feinstein said in a press release at the time. “That information can be the key to identifying and stopping terrorist recruitment or a terrorist attack, but we need the help from technology companies.”

He has come to replace Ahmadou Vamoulke who has been GM for the past 11 years.

 Charles Ndongo was TV director before new appointment. The deputy GM is Wongibe Emmanuel former Director of CMCA,CRTV Marketing and Commercial Agency as he replaces Francis WETE

Unfortunately, no anglophone has been made to handle that post as it has been the case for the past years.

Cash and cow compensation for family of Cameroon boy killed in US motorcade accident

From flour and onions to cash and cows, the United States provided a wide range of compensation to a Cameroonian family whose child was killed by a vehicle in UN ambassador Samantha Power’s motorcade.Check more on the story here.

Ms Power, who was at that time visiting the front lines in the war against Boko Haram, returned later that day for a tense and emotionally fraught gathering with Birwe’s family and community members. She promised to compensate them for their loss.In April, when Ms Power was travelling near the remote, northern Cameroon city of Mokolo, an armored jeep in her caravan struck a 7-year-old at high speed after he darted into the road. Birwe Toussem was killed instantly.

US state department officials said the cash payment was 1 million Central African francs, roughlyDh6,250. Cameroon’s GDP per person is about Dh4,800.

Cameroon’s government, aid organisations operating in the area and the UN – which also had officials in the convoy – contributed another 5 million francs, bringing the total cash payout to more than Dh36,700.

In addition to money, officials said the US government provided a pair of cows; hundreds of kilograms of flour, onions, rice, salt and sugar; and cartons of soap and oil. Still to come is a well that will provide the village with fresh drinking water.

State department spokesman Jeffrey Loree called it a “compensation package commensurate with local custom, as well as the needs of the family and village”.

“This package included a potable water well in the boy’s community that will serve as a lasting memory and some monetary, food, and other support,” Mr Loree said. “US diplomats have visited the family on several occasions following the accident and will continue to provide all support possible.”

Ms Power was on the first leg of a weeklong trip through West African countries bearing the scars of Boko Haram’s insurgency. Travelling through territory that had witnessed previous Boko Haram attacks, Ms Power’s motorcade was moving at a fast clip, at times exceeding 60 mph. Villagers lined up along the sides of the road to greet the ambassador as US and Cameroonian special forces ensured her security.

But when Birwe darted onto the two-lane highway, perhaps distracted by a Cameroonian helicopter monitoring overhead, there was no time for the sixth vehicle in Power’s convoy to react.

The vehicle that hit the boy initially stopped, only to be ordered by American security forces to continue travelling through the unsecured area. An ambulance in the caravan immediately attended to Birwe, though it was apparent his condition was hopeless.

Kumba: Lives lost in Fiango road mishap

They were all commercial motorbike riders.June 27, 2016, was a black day for the population of Kumba in Meme Division of the South Region. They woke up that fateful morning to news of the passing on of three commercial motorbike riders crushed to death by a front-loader caterpillar in Fiango in front of K’town Hotel at about 7.45 am. Bisong Randy Enow, one of the riders died on the spot, while Fonyam Sylvone and Nkwenkap Eugene, later gave up the ghost in the Kumba District Hospital.

The other 9 victims are still in the hospital where medics are giving special medical attention. Some of the victims suffered fractures on legs, arms and heads, with many in critical conditions. The population spent the day running between the scene of the accident in Fiango and the Kumba District Hospital to personally see the horror. The driver of the caterpillar in mad rush drove into a township taxi with three passengers and then four motorbike riders. It ended up pulling down the wall of K’town Hotel and was only stopped by another parked vehicle in the premises.

The Senior Divisional Officer, SDO, for Meme, Koulbout Aman David, the Divisional Officer, DO, for Kumba II and security men immediately rushed to the scene of the accident in Fiango and then the hospital to comfort the victims and their families. The SDO urged the Director of the Hospital and his staff to pay more attention to the victims. The surviving nine victims who are responding in hospital are Mbango Tapitha, Eboe Ebande, Miken nee Nkem Adeline, Ngum Trossey, Mbango Taseu, Oben Nerogon, Matute Sone, Doh Kinsley, and Tambi Ramson. As at press time, the caterpillar driver was still on the run, while security men have opened investigations into the matter.

China bans Lady Gaga and her entire repertoire

China's Communist party has reportedly banned singer Lady Gaga from the country after she posted  a 19 minute video of her meeting Dalai Lama to discuss yoga and ponder on issues such as meditation, mental health and humanity detoxification.


Following Lady Gaga’s meeting with him, the Communist party’s mysterious propaganda department issued “an important instruction” banning her entire repertoire from mainland China, Hong Kong’s pro-democracy newspaper Apple Daily reported on Monday.
The video of the meeting sparked an angry reaction from Beijing, which has attacked the spiritual leader as a “wolf in monk’s robes”.

Dalai Lama, who fled into exile in March 1959, insists he is merely seeking greater autonomy from Chinese rule for Tibetans.

Chinese websites and media organisations according to reports have been ordered to stop uploading or distributing her songs as a sign of Beijing’s irritation at the meeting between the pair.

The communist party have also issued orders for party-controlled news outlets such as state broadcaster CCTV and newspapers the People’s Daily and the Global Times to condemn the meeting as they see Dalai Lama as one who is just trying to promote his proposal for Tibetan independence and is conspiring to split the Himalayan region from China in order to establish theocratic rule there.

Some people suggested the American singer would have gone into her meeting with the spiritual leader with her eyes wide open as to the consequences.

“Lady Gaga knew how Beijing would react,” Bill Bishop, who runs the Sinocism newsletter, wrote on Twitter. “Good for her to show some courage, unlike most celebrities who are scared of bullying Beijing now.”

Cameroon:Billions Embezzled in Nsam Fire Claims; about FCFA 14,743,183,619

The National Anti-Corruption Commission, on June 27, 2016 in Yaounde, unveiled fabulous sums of money pilfered after investigations prompted by tip-offs.

The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) has uncovered the embezzlement of the sum of FCFA 14,743,183,619 in the management of the compensation funds for Nsam fire disaster victims. Government had disbursed the funds after 200 people died following a fuel train derailment and explosion on February 14, 1998 around the Petroleum Products Depot (SCDP) in the Nsam neighbourhood in Yaounde.

While presenting highlights of the watchdog’s 2014 Anti-Corruption Status Report on June 27, 2016 in Yaounde, NACC’s Chairman, Reverend Dr Dieudonné Massi Gams said investigations based on 3064 tip-offs in 2014 of embezzlement in some development services and projects. The State, for example, lost FCFA 1.7 billion representing 64 per cent of the total compensation amount paid for the Memve’ele Hydroelectricity Dam project.

In a ceremony attended by several cabinet ministers and other officials of the executive, judiciary and legislative arms of the State as well as members of the diplomatic corps, political parties, media and the civil society, Rev. Dieudonné Massi Gams announced that NACC’s fourth Anti-Corruption Report prioritised the implementation of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy while focusing on the assessment of the execution of 2012 Regional Anti-Corruption Action Plans and the Rapid Results Initiatives launched in 2011.

Regarding the implementation of the Regional Anti-Corruption Plan, the North West and Centre Regions came first and second with 43.68 and 43.42 per cent execution rates respectively; well over the national execution rate of 27.3 per cent. “27 out of 38 ministries remained apathetic in the RRI implementation in 2014, while 11 of them, eight public or semi-public enterprises and 2 development projects participated,” he regretted.

However, NACC’s reputation was seriously marred by the phenomenon of fake agents in some cities who extort money from people through influence peddling and other offences. Thus, proposals made in the document included the creation at regional level of NACC branches in order to strengthen the staff and bring the institution closer to citizens.

Aston Villa and Crystal Palace battle for Cameroon's Jerome Onguene

The Villans and Eagles are said to be vying for Jerome Onguene’s signature, with Arsenal and Newcastle United also said to have watched the 18-year-old.

Aston Villa and Crystal Palace are competing to sign teenage French defender Jerome Onguene, the Daily Mail reports.

Onguene, who plays in France for Sochaux, is said to have been watched by Arsenal and Newcastle United last season.

The 18-year-old made his senior debut in 2014-15 and has appeared 44 times in total for the Ligue 2 side, earning rave reviews.

And according to the Mail, Onguene was the subject of a £1.75 million bid from Turkish side Trabzonspor over the weekend.

The report claims Sochaux would like to keep the Cameroon-born centre-back, but stand to benefit financially from his sale.

And the interested parties could get a closer look at the imposing youngster during the upcoming UEFA Under-19 Championship, with France due to face England.

SA pastor commands young woman to sleep inside deep freezer for 30 minutes-see photos

Until someone dies, this man won't be stopped. South African Prophet, Penuel, while ministering commanded a young lady to enter inside a deep refrigerator that was on a high freezing point and ordered her to fall into deep sleep.

 

The prophet then closed the deep refrigerator for more than thirty minutes. After that Thirty minutes he opened the refrigerator and commanded the young lady to wake up, and he asked the lady who had ice on her body what was happening. She replied:

"That inside the deep refridgerator was very hot and she didn't feel any coldness of the ice in the deep freezer"
