Lionel Messi is Argentina's talisman at the Copa America

lionel messi

Fans chanted his name throughout Argentina's opening game even though he wasn't on the pitch, against Panama, but they eventually got to see their hero in action.

With Argentina leading by a goal and half an hour to play, Lionel Messi was introduced and in typical fashion, he lit up the tournament with his brilliance. The attacker bagged a hat trick and set up a fifth goal to help Argentina to a comfortable win and send them through to the next round. Argentines will be hoping their talisman maintains this blitz all the way in search of an elusive continental title.

The Voice' singer Christina Grimmie dies after shooting at show

Grimmie, a New Jersey native, finished third during season six of NBC's "The Voice" in 2014, competing on the team of Maroon 5 star Adam Levine.
Christina Grimmie dead

ORLANDO, Fla. — The gunman who shot and killed a singer who rose to fame after appearing on "The Voice" travelled to Orlando from another Florida city specifically to attack her and then fatally shot himself, authorities said Saturday.
Orlando Police Chief John Mina said at a news conference that the suspect, identified as a 21-year-old white male, didn't appear to know Christina Grimmie personally. Grimmie was shot to death after giving a concert in Orlando on Friday night. She died early Saturday.
"She was doing a meet-and-greet, just signing autographs and selling merchandise. This white male approached her and opened fire, striking her," Mina said. "We believe he came here to commit this crime."
The 22-year-old singer from New Jersey finished third during season six of NBC's "The Voice" in 2014, competing on the team of Maroon 5 star Adam Levine. She began amassing a following on YouTube as a teenager, gripping online viewers with her powerful renditions of hit songs. Her videos on YouTube have garnered millions of views.
In an earlier statement, police said Grimmie had performed with the band Before You Exit at The Plaza Live in Orlando. The concert ended around 10 p.m., and Grimmie was shot as she signed autographs for fans at a merchandise table in The Plaza concert venue.
Grimmie's brother, Marcus, immediately tackled the gunman, who then shot and killed himself during the struggle, police said. They credited the singer's brother with preventing the gunman from hurting others. Around 120 others were in The Plaza at the time.
"Very heroic actions by Marcus Grimmie to jump in and it definitely could have prevented further loss of life," Mina said.
Detectives were searching the suspect's cellphone and social media accounts looking for clues as to a motive, Mina said, but they weren't aware of any history of stalking of Grimmie by the suspect.

At the news conference, the police chief refused to identify the name of the suspect or where he came from in Florida.
The suspect had on him two handguns, two loaded magazines and a hunting knife, Mina said.
There were unarmed security guards at The Plaza and they checked bags and purses for contraband, but there were no metal detectors or pat-downs of people as they entered The Plaza, he said.
Grimmie had posted a video of herself shortly before the concert was scheduled to begin, encouraging fans to come see her perform.
Levine posted a photo of himself with Grimmie on Instagram, commenting before her death was confirmed: "I'm sad, shocked and confused. We love you so much Grimmie. We are all praying hard that you can pull through this ... this just isn't fair."
"The Voice" paid tribute to Grimmie on its official Twitter page: "There are no words. We lost a beautiful soul with an amazing voice."
The Philadelphia Inquirer reported in 2014 that Grimmie moved to Los Angeles in 2012 after joining Selena Gomez on tour to focus on her singing career.
"I'm done being surprised by cool things she does. She's very talented and she's worked incredibly hard — it's a dangerous combination," her brother told the newspaper at the time.

Weird- Man receives condolence letter' of his own DEAD

http://i3.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article8160626.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/
A shocked pensioner received a letter from his local council - informing him of his own death.
Stunned OAP Madan-lal Kosla, 83, opened a letter from Manchester City Council that said he was no longer eligible for council tax support because he was dead.
The notification, addressed to Mr Kosla’s wife Sudesh, contained condolences on behalf of the local authority.
It said: “I am sorry to hear of your partner’s death on the 18th of May.

“Please accept my condolences. I am sorry to write to you at this difficult time but as the claim for council tax support was in your partner’s name I have cancelled payments from 18th of May.”

Madanlal Kosla 83, was stunned when he opened the letter saying his wife was no longer eligible for council tax support because he was dead

Mr Kosla had opened the letter because his wife struggles to read or speak English.
He said he was shocked the council had made such a ‘serious mistake’ but after an investigation they said the error had been made by the Department for Work and Pensions .
“We are both very angry by what has happened,” Mr Kosla said.
“What if I had been away and someone else had opened that letter?
“They would think I’m dead. I had to pinch myself when I read it.”
The grandfather-of-nine informed the council of the mistake and was told to go his local job centre to prove he was alive.
“They said go to the job centre , take a passport and show them you’re not dead,” he added.
“My wife is very angry about this too.
“It has inconvenienced us both and caused us both a lot of stress.”

The letter said his wife was no longer eligible for council tax support because he was dead

A Manchester City Council spokesman blamed the Department for Work and Pensions for the mistake.

Paul Le Guen to head Nigerian Super Eagles for $50,000

http://www.planetepsg.com/divers/
Former French international, Olympique Lyon and Cameroon coach, Paul Le Guen, will be in charge of the Super Eagles when the final round of the qualifiers for the Russia 2018 World Cup start in October, Completesportsnigeria.com understands.

Le Guen who was sacked as Oman’s head coach after his side lost 2-1 to Turkmenistan on Nov. 17 last year, has agreed a three-year deal to coach the Super Eagles and has also requested to reside in Lagos as against the proposed Abuja, a Nigeria Football Federation source has informed Completesportsnigeria.com..

Completesportsnigeria.com can also reveal that a top sponsor of the Nigerian Football Federation, a bank, has already agreed to bankroll the salaries of the Frenchman, and he could pick former skipper of the Super Eagles, Austin Jay- Jay Okocha, to be his first assistant on the job.

Le Guen who once coached Scottish side Rangers and PSG, Completesportsnigeria.com gathered, will earn about $50,000 a month which is more than double what Sunday Oliseh earned as Nigeria coach.

As at the time of this report, Completesportsnigeria.com cannot? ascertain when the Frenchman will assume duty as coach of the Super Eagles.

Le Guen’s coaching career has seen a mix of fortunes. He won three straight Ligue 1 titles with Lyon between 2002 and 2005 and got the club into the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League.

However, he did not do too well with Rangers and Cameroon. He was fired by the Glasgow club after only seven months in charge in the 2006 and 2007 season after a poor run of results.

Although Le Guen helped the Indomitable Lions qualify for the 2010 World Cup, they had a terrible tournament, becoming the first team to crash out after losing all three group games.

Salisu Yusuf is currently in charge of the Super Eagles on an interim basis after he led the Eagles to wins over Mali and Luxembourg in friendly games.

Reclaim Bakassi from Cameroon or we will resort to violence – thugs warns FG

Bakassi strike force display weapon
Militant group known as Bakassi Strike Force has called on the Federal Government to reclaim the ceded Bakassi Peninsular from Cameroon or it would be forced to take up arms.

The group in a boat-display, brandishing all kinds of weapons on Friday at Esighi axis of Bakassi, in Akpabuyo Local Government Area of Cross River State lamented the neglect of Bakassi people by the Federal Government and other local and international stakeholders.

Speaking during the display, leader of the group, General Simple also known as Humble Lion said the people of Cross River and Akwa Ibom states have been sidelined by the Federal Government in the amnesty programme.

According to Simple, “The Bakassi Strike Force is an indigenous group made up of youths from Akwa Ibom and Cross River states, totalling 642 foot soldiers.

“You will agree with me that Akwa Ibom and Cross River states are part of the Niger Delta region, yet we have been completely sidelined from the amnesty scheme and other empowerment programmes for the youth of the area.

“Yet it will interest you to note that it is in Obubra, Cross River State that the team of Niger Delta militants was hosted, when states such as Bayelsa, Delta, Rivers, Edo and Ondo refused to host the rehabilitation camp for the militants.

The group accused the Federal Government of ceding the oil rich Bakassi to Cameroon, stressing that the indigenes and habitants were not consulted before the area was ceded.

“To make matters worse, after taking over our land, the Cameroonian forces began to harass and molest our people. They even levied us with heavy taxes which became entirely unbearable.

“Therefore, when it became obvious after several petitions that the federal and state governments were not ready to protect us and even the United Nations, we invited our Ijaw brothers who were already in the arms struggle to resist the Cameroonian operatives, but unfortunately, they embraced Federal Government amnesty programme when it was offered and abandoned us.

“As indigenous youths, we have no other option than rise to defend and defend ourselves from the operations and injustice from the Cameroonian forces. The Federal Government should reclaim Bakassi from Cameroon,” he added.

Apples and the kangaroo making love
A kangaroo and a pig have been pictured having sex in the Australian outback - and are believed to have been an item for a year.

In these mind-boggling pictures, the marsupial is seen mounting his porcine paramour and the pair nuzzling each other affectionately.

In one image the kangaroo is seen with his arm draped across the pig in a protective manner as he gazes into the camera.

The cross-species affair was discovered by researcher Ryan Frazer, 28, who was on a work trip in Australia's Northern Territory when he and his colleagues stopped to stretch their legs in Aileron, about 80 miles north of Alice Springs.

But what the group thought would be a routine sight-seeing stop to see a local landmark - a giant statue of an indigenous man - turned out to take a strange twist.

Cameroon: The bird flu about to collapse the poultry industry

http://cdn.static.tuoitre.vn/i/s500/2014/11/
After being wiped out by the massive imports of frozen chicken until 2005, then by a national psychosis created by the discovery of the avian flu virus on a duck carcass in the Extreme-North in 2006, the Cameroonian poultry sector is again on the verge of collapsing.

On 3 June 2016, the public authorities announced that the avian flu epizooty declared in the city of Yaoundé a week earlier, has spread to the Western region. This news is even more serious for the local poultry sector considering that the Western region represents, on its own, approximately 80% of the national production, according to the operators’ statistics.

In other words, with the ban on the sale of chicken in Bafoussam, mainly, and the whole Mifi and Koung-khi departments, where two outbreaks of avian flu were diagnosed, the Cameroonian poultry sector finds itself without any market. And this, whether on the local or sub-regional level.

Indeed, at the local stage, the market is supplied from the city of Bafoussam, meanwhile to conquer the sub-regional market (Gabon, one of the main markets, has even banned imports of chicken from Cameroon), the poultry production from West-Cameroon transits through Yaoundé, the capital of the country in which the sale of chicken has been banned for a week now. This ban follows the death of 24,000 birds from avian flu at the Mvog-Betsi Avian Complex, which thus lost 75% of its flock.

Target of 50 million chickens in 2016 seems compromised

These bans which hit the poultry market have negative consequences on the cash flow of the farmers and hatchery operators, who now have to stock their products for longer (the disinfection of the Yaoundé markets could last a month, according to the Ministry of Livestock), with additional production costs (poultry feed and veterinarian treatments, for example).

But above all, the local production will decrease. Indeed, with the current situation, the poultry sector will have difficulties making available the 50 million chickens announced for 2016 by the Poultry Trade Organisation of Cameroon (Ipavic). Especially due to the loss of 33,000 adult poultry at the reproductive state (24,000 dead following the avian flu and the remainder slaughtered as a preventive measure) in the Mvog-Betsi Avian Complex, 4th hatchery of the country.

According to the figures communicated to RFI by the engineer agronomist Bernard Njonga, who was at the forefront of the fight against imports of frozen chicken in Cameroon, 1.3 million eggs to hatch were also destroyed in this poultry farm (equivalent to as many potential chicks), as well as approximately 1.4 million chicks who were killed (equivalent to as many potential broilers). In the western part of the country, 300,000 chicks produced per day will remain unsold due to the ban on the chicken trade, if they are not simply slaughtered by the hatchery operators to avoid creating additional productions costs.

In 2006, a psychosis following the discovery of the H5N1 virus on a duck carcass led to losses estimated at FCfa 3 billion in the Cameroonian poultry sector. In 2016, with a minimum of 3 outbreaks of avian flu already declared in the main production areas and markets of the country (Yaoundé, Bafoussam and Bayangam), the bill might prove hefty for this sector employing approximately 400,000 people and weighting 3.3% in the GDP.

Cameroon Christians and Muslims joinly break Ramadan together

http://gdb.voanews.com/
YAOUNDE — Muslims around the world are marking Ramadan with prayer and fasting. In Cameroon, Christians and Animists are joining Muslims for the evening meal as a show of solidarity against the terrorist group Boko Haram, which has been carrying out attacks in the north since 2014.

Hundreds of people gather at Yaounde’s largest mosque to pray and break fast. But not all are Muslims. Christians have come to share supper. They wait outside in the courtyard while the Muslims pray.

“The message is just one: let Cameroon remain [the] same. Christians and Muslims should live together. We should not discriminate and we pray for a better Cameroon,”said Charles Nzobo, an elder at the Catholic cathedral across town.

Fear of tensions

Cameroon does not have a history of religious conflict. But some fear that the Boko Haram insurgency in the north is creating tension and suspicion between Christians and Muslims as it did in Nigeria.

About a quarter of Cameroon’s population is Muslim. Authorities have arrested dozens of Muslim clerics for their alleged support for Boko Haram. But those gathered at the mosque say people should not generalize.

Joseph Ndinga, a notable from the nearby traditional ruler’s palace at Tsinga-Yaounde, says gathering to break fast is a show of solidarity with the Muslim community that will help fight Boko Haram.

“It is African tradition. If somebody is either enjoying or in pain, there is that aspect that you go to your brother or sister, be it he is having something bad or something good,” he said.

Open doors

For Muslims, Ramadan is the holiest month of the year. Some imams say only Muslims who have fasted should partake of the evening meal.

But Muhamadou Labarang, secretary of the mosque, says all are welcome. He begins with a prayer.

He says they share collective meals in respect of the holy Koran’s prescription that the faithful should share so as to have favors and blessings from God. He says they thank God that Muslims and non-Muslims can live together in Cameroon and they pray for peace.

Woman quits her job to breastfeed her boyfriend every two hours saying it creates a ‘magical bond’ between them'

A woman, Jennifer Mulford has quit her job to breastfeed her 36-year-old bodybuilder boyfriend Brad Leeson full time  saying it creates a ‘magical bond’ between them and that she wanted to create an ‘Adult Breastfeeding Relationship’.
According to Jennifer, she quit her job to ‘dry’ breastfeed Brad every two hours – to ‘fool’ her body into lactating.

Jennifer, from Atlanta,  started searching for men who will be open to the idea of adult breastfeeding.

In an interview with The SunUk She said:
“When I read about the pure joy it brought others, I was desperate to seek out a partner to share an emotional bond with. “I used dating sites, put messages on ABR forums and even put an advert on Craigslist, but I drew a blank. I started to think I’d never get to try adult breastfeeding.”
“We were talking and Brad told me he had a thing for big-breasted women, and that size had always been a factor in his relationships. I thought it was the perfect time to bring up adult breastfeeding – and see if he’d be interested,” said Jennifer.
'It was like a light switched flicked in his head. I could tell from his voice that he was curious and excited,’ she said, before opening up about the first time the pair tried it.
"At that moment I knew that I had a partner for life… we both wanted the same thing out of the relationship – a magical bond that only breastfeeding can achieve. I’ve taken a break from my job because I want to devote everything to making this work.We both wanted the same thing out of the relationship – a magical bond that only breastfeeding an achieve.”

Because Jennifer hadn’t breastfed for over 20 years, she had no milk to feed Brad with. The couple needed to induce lactation by dry-feeding and pumping her breasts every two hours, just as if she was feeding a baby.
“After three days my breasts were starting to feel sore, but I am willing to push through any pain for our end goal.”It’s been difficult to distinguish the difference between nurturing and sex. Although it’s so beautiful and peaceful it’s also erotic. It’s been hard to get through the first few nursing sessions without being tempted to have sex, but each time it’s getting easier.” She continued..
“I’m not opposed to telling people but I don’t think many others would understand. I don’t think my Mother would grasp the idea – but I wish I could tell the world. This is a lifestyle we have chosen. We look forward to years from now still needing and wanting each other. I can come home from a very stressful day and seconds after Brad latching on I feel a sense of peace and calm. For that time I feel like we become one. I have yet to feel anything more comforting. It’s a bond that no one can come between.”

Football fan brutally beaten and stripped for celebrating in wrong stand

The incident occurred in Buenos Aires, during an Argentine league clash between Platense and visitors Atlanta.
The fan, who supports Atlanta, purchased a general ticket, but was seated in the middle of one of the home stands.
Staying largely quiet and keeping his loyalties secret throughout most of the game, the man couldn't help but celebrate when the referee awarded his side a penalty in the 87th minute.
Shocking scenes
Seconds later, angry home fans descended on the man and gave him a vicious beating.
They then proceeded strip him naked and march him out of the stadium and onto the street.
The video above shows the shocked man being led out naked from the stands.
A police patrol immediately took him to a nearby hospital where he was treated for head trauma.
The final score was 2-1 thanks to Franco Olego scoring said penalty. This means Atlanta remain in the running for the B division title.

He would then return on a match-by-match deal after the Super Eagles failed to reach the 2015 Nations Cup. He was then sacked, but later reinstated after intervention from Nigeria president Goodluck Jonathan.

Today, the family owes more than 500,000 FCFA to the Yaounde Central Hospital and is thus unable to go ahead with the burial of the decomposed body. This is after spending over 2 million FCFA to save his life.

Ndi Ekoto Achille died in the Yaounde Central Hospital on May 31, 2016, following the accident of April 29, 2016. According to his uncle, Mano Ekoto Roger, a welder with whom Ndi Ekoto Achille trained, the incident happened between 9 am and 10 am as Ndi was transporting construction rods across the neighbourhood street to his makeshift workshop. The cable, said to have been hanging about six metres above the ground, hit the 5.80-metre-long rod, electrocuting him from the neck right to the feet. Contacted a few days after the accident, Eneo officials at the regional office in downtown Yaounde asked the family to write a formal complaint; which they immediately did.

Sometime after, Eneo national head office in Douala replied, explaining that Ndi Ekoto Achille’s case could not be taken care of because the company was not responsible for the accident. When Cameroon Tribune met Tcheme Joel, the Head of Department for Hygiene, Security and Environment, in the Eneo regional office in Yaounde on June 6, 2016, he said the journalist’s version of what happened was not what was contained in complaint written by Mano Ekoto Roger.

Tcheme insisted that the accident was not the responsibility of Eneo, even when the reporter pointed out that the high-tension cable was hanging as low as six metres above the ground. And that as pointer to the fact that something was wrong, an Eneo subcontractor planted another electricity pole at the scene of the accident a few days before Ndi’s death. The new, higher pole has lifted the height of the cable to about 12 metres now. “As far as my department is concerned, the matter is already foreclosed, except the family wants to go to court,” Tcheme Joel concluded on an insistent note.
