Gaelle Enganamouit:UEFA investigating racism in Women’s Champions League tie
Rosengard’s
coach Jack Majgaard Jensen condemned alleged racist behaviour in a
Women’s Champions League quarter-final against Frankfurt.
UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against Frankfurt after
alleged racist behaviour by the club’s fans in their Women’s Champions
League quarter-final win against Rosengard.Gaelle Enganamouit |
“Disciplinary proceedings have been opened following the UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-final between Frankfurt and Rosengard played on March 30 in Germany,” read a short UEFA statement.
The charge against Frankfurt is “Racist behaviour – Art. 14 of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations” and the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body will reveal its findings on April 5.
Anti-discrimination and social inclusion network FARE described the racism as “depressing”, while Enganamouit confirmed she was aware of the chanting.
“Yes, I heard what they were shouting,” the Cameroon international told Swedish website Sydsvenskan. “I did not care. Such is football, and when you want to be the best, you must turn your head. I have not faced it before.”
Brazil international Marta, five-time FIFA World Player of the Year, was also reportedly targeted by racist chants during the game.
Rosengard’s coach Jack Majgaard Jensen condemned the racist behaviour during the tie, which his side lost 5-4 on penalties.
“It’s f****** sad. Especially when it’s at a player who has done so much for female football,” he said. “It’s clear they were booing and screaming, but when it becomes racist, and it’s personal, it does not belong in football.”

Yaounde:4,000 households to be disconnected from the power grid to lessen power outages in the capital
The Governor of the Central region, Joseph Otto Wilson, announced on 30 March 2016 through a communiqué, the launch of an operation to disconnect from the Yaoundé power grid, in the capital of the country, households suspected of fraudulent connection.
Some 4,000 households are in the sights of the public authorities and the company in charge of the public electricity service as part of this operation, we officially learned.
According to the communiqué from Governor Otto Wilson, these fraudulent connections to the power grid contribute to transformers being overloaded, which generally leads to explosion on this equipment, thereby causing important deficits in electrical energy production.
The governor thus hopes that this clean sweep operation against the capital’s power grid fraudsters will prompt a return to normality for the supply in electrical energy for the Cameroonian capital and pit an end to the power outages experienced in many areas, following the multiples incidents on the power grid these past weeks.

Tokyo – A video showing Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe falling ‘asleep’ while meeting Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in Tokyo has surfaced.
In the video Mugabe is seen briefly ‘closing’ his eyes while Prime Minister Abe speaks to journalist in Tokyo.
The video follows a number of other videos where the veteran leader has caused internationals headlines, leading to speculation about his capacity to remain in power.
Early last year, President Mugabe was caught on camera falling from a flight of stairs at Harare’s international airport sending social networks into a frenzy of funny pictures.
Soon after the fall in Harare,Mugabe, 92, was filmed losing his footing as he walked up a dais at the India-Africa Forum Summit in November.
MI ABAGA: Cameroon's Roqzen is africa's next big thing in hip hop-scores woso a 9.5/10 (see more/video/photo)
It could not get better than this. I practically and strongly can say that the Cameroon entertainment industry is being redefined. The speed at which the redefinition is taking place cannot be over emphasized as it is clearly visible in the several endorsements and shows and international recognition's. 2016 just like i assumed earlier has it all.
The first 237 industry nyte this year, the10th edition to be precised had a couple of performances and Karawa Diary covered it entirely. The performances at the show were ranked. see WHERE ROQZEN WAS RANKED
Previously little known Roqzen first made his first BIG splash
on the showbiz platform during his mind blowing performances at the recent 237
industry nite in Buea. Though he had performed on several platforms before the industry night, the impact he created at the industry nite was awesome and breath taking. He basically called everyone s attention more than any other at the show. According to many that we talked to, its just part and parcel of him. His recent (dare I call it ) yet to be release Hit Song
"WOSSO" is something you will want to hear over and over again.
Ironically his performance started with famous and famed kamer
presenter TITO introducing him as a Lady( i laughed loud) and he stepped out all the same(humble guy) and he held the crowd spell bound as they kept screaming for encores to his Wosso performance.
Amidst the crowd that famous night was the reputable and
funky Cameroonian award winning and Dance hall artist Wax Dey who was also blown away by Roqzen's performance
and took it upon himself to get the vibe to MI Abaga. He had the video of his discussion with MI published on his official page on Facebook.
MI's reaction to the song wosso in the video could not be pretentious because for sure he was so blown by the hip hop in the art as he personally confessed. MI gives the song a 9.5/10. The rap legend's recommendation is one that cannot be taken lightly and lying down because he knows the roots of hip hop and has proven himself over time even as boss of Chocolate City. WATCH MI TALK TO WAXDEY ABOUT ROQZEN
How can the efforts of Wax Dey be left unmentioned? I think for some reason he is about to create a bridge between Cameroon hip hop and music as a whole to the African Movement. Kudos to you brother, love shown in this manner is much appreciated. Wax Dey did not only talk of Roqzen to MI but he also endorses the show 237 Industry nyte with this powerful words as seen below
-----
We at Karawa diary will like to give ourselves a pat on the
back for having already taken keen of Roqzens progress: see previous articles
abt him. rank on perfomances
Such an endorsement from the African Hip Hop Giant can only
mean brighter and lighte down Roqzen's tunnel.

Has Stephan Mbia lost his captain band?
Was he Injured? Sanctioned? Tired? The questions did not
stop after the South Africa-Cameroon match as concerns the absence of the captain
of the Indomitable Lions. Replacing Stephane Mbia has indeed raised a lot of
eye brow and has left many unanswered questions
From an observer memory point of view, this is rarely, if
ever happened in the Indomitable Lions to see the abrupt replacement of the
captain of the national team. Yet Hugo Broos has done so. To think that it was
the 2nd vice-captain, Vincent Aboubakar, who wore the armband in the absence of
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting. “The national coach had announced big changes after
the draw recorded in Limbe”, simply explain the Team Press Officer of the team,
Vincent de Paul Atangana on this issue.
At the same time, some media sources, including social
networks, reported an unfortunate exit of captain after the game as he got into
the dressing room. According to the site Mboafootball the player of Fc Hebei
(China) have criticized the new tenured players by the coach, accusing him of
not having sufficiently "wet the shirt," unlike some frames left on
the bench. The social media site also claims Mbia was taken by Vincent
Aboubakar on time and later by officials of the delegation at the point when the
possibility of a suspension of captain would have been considered (cant tell if all this happened in the same locker room). All this
Information was however denied by Vincent Atangana.
Further sources however, said that there has never been any friction between the two teammates in the locker
or dressing room. The national coach has announced changes in both the incoming
Eleven in the tactics of the national team. All things have been implemented to counter
the opponent style of play of the day. “In any case, having Stephane Mbia on
the bench may suggest that now, no one is indispensable in this team.
Notwithstanding, could the abrupt changes talk well of the
team management, and could putting Mbia on the bench mean him about to lose his captain band?
NIGERIAN GOVERNOR: No girls were abducted from school by Boko Haram as claimed to be in 2014
Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, on Wednesday declared that no pupil was abducted by Boko Haram from Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State. Over 200 pupils of the school were reportedly abducted in 2014 by the terror group. The governor said the report was politically motivated to influence public opinion against the Goodluck Jonathan administration ahead of the 2015 general elections.Fayose spoke while declaring open a two-day workshop on “Political Aspirants Capacity Enhancement” organised by Women Arise for Change Initiative. It was organised for women from Ekiti, Osun and Ondo states.
He said, “Today, many opposition leaders are underground. I don’t think any of these girls is missing; it is a political strategy. Who is fooling who? If you wanted to use it to remove some people, you have succeeded already. “I don’t know if there are missing girls but no indication has shown that. It is a political strategy, because I don’t think any girl is missing. If they are missing, let them find them.” The governor also took a swipe at #BringBackOurGirls campaigners, saying some of them are using it to look for appointments.
He lamented that human rights groups had decided to keep quite since President Muhammadu Buhari came on board. Fayose said, “I’m concerned about the activities of human rights groups. Today the government of the day is obeying court order of their choice, while human rights are not respected. “We must talk about government providing cover for criminals. You are now using that person to harass innocent person. You will never have peace when you hide justice.” He added, “Police came into town yesterday (Tuesday) to arrest political opponents. If you like, demonise me, I will demonise you. I don’t need the police and the SSS (Department of State Services) to walk in my state. It is when you are not popular that you walk with police. “Any government that rises against me, that government will come down. I’m Peter the rock. By engaging me, you make me more popular and relevant and then court sympathy. I’m one person that is going places. That is why all these challenges are against me.” The governor urged women seeking elective offices to be loyal to their husbands.
The President of the initiative, Dr. Joe Okei-Odumakin, said the objective of the workshop was to enhance women political participation and their inclusion in decision making process by promoting female political aspirants and appointees. She said it was to encourage a more massive political mobilisation of women. She lamented that Nigerian women had not fully involved themselves in politics, despite the constitutional provisions giving them rights to political participation.

Cameroon Potable Water Supply:Action Plan For 2016 Endorsed
The Leasing and Concession Follow-up Committee for Potable Water Supply in Urban and Suburban areas met in Yaounde on March 30,2016.
The crisis rocking the water sector in Cameroon is yet to end, with members of the committee monitoring leasing contracts and concessions for potable water supply in urban and suburban areas in Cameroon agreeing that it was time to step up investments and vigilance in the sector. The committee met in Yaounde yesterday, March 30, 2016, in its 27th session, to endorse the 2016 plan of activities that will increase the supply of potable water in the country.
The Minister of Water and Energy, Basile Atangana Kouna, who is Chair of the Leasing and Concession Follow-up Committee for Potable Water Supply in Urban and Suburban Areas, alongside comittee members unrolled and endorsed the 2016 plan of activities. The Minister said the plan was already “approved by government to restore the economic and financial balance of letting potable water supply in concerned areas.” He stated that activities were gradually being implemented by stakeholders with respect to public private partnership that regulates the sector. Atangana Kouna disclosed that assessing progress and impact of earmarked projects was primary.
Meantime, the Director General of Camerounaise des Eaux, CDE, Brahim Ramdane, acknowledged potable water shortfalls in some major cities, but said short and medium-term measures were gradually bringing the crisis to an end. Demand has doubled, with supply dangling This notwithstanding, the putting in place of more water treatment plants will substantially remedy the situation. Efforts are underway to boost investment in the sector. Setbacks in the sector, he pointed out, have been the maintenance of infrastructure and operational equipment, and the replacement of equipment and projects. Others were the installation and replacement of old pipes, understanding the nitty gritties of losing water, etc.
Government, funding partners, Cameroon Water Utilities Corporation, CAMWATER and CDE officials, all members of the committee, discussed the financial model of the sector. An independent auditor debriefed committee members on the path covered on negotiating contractual terms and financial commitments between stakeholders.
