Suspected suicide bomber caught.Read what she revealed

Missing-Girls

The girl told security forces she was among the girls kidnapped in 2014 from their school in Nigeria by terror group Boko Haram
A suspected suicide bomber intercepted before she could blow herself up claimed to be one of 219 schoolgirls kidnapped by terrorists in 2014, military and local government sources said.

Two girls carrying explosives were stopped today by local defense forces in the village of Limani, in an area of northern Cameroon that has been the target of frequent suicide bombings in recent months.
They were then handed over to Cameroonian soldiers from a multi-national force set up to take on Nigerian Islamist terror group Boko Haram .

In a high-profile attack that sparked a global outcry, Boko Haram militants raided a school in the Nigerian town of Chibok in April 2014, while the girls were taking exams.
They loaded 270 of them onto trucks, though around 50 escaped shortly afterwards.
Local government administrator Raymond Roksdo said: “One of them indeed declared that she is one of the Chibok hostages . She is around 15.
“We are now verifying, because on the Nigerian side they have the names and photos of these girls.”

Two military sources, who asked not to be identified as they were not authorised to speak to the media, also confirmed that the girl had claimed to have been one of the Chibok abductees.
“We need a few days to be able to confirm this information.
“We have to debrief all the men who were present and interrogate the two girls before we can say anything,” one of the military sources said.

Boko Haram has been responsible for attacks, massacres and kidnappings at schools and clinics in Nigeria as its members are fiercely against ‘Western’ education and immunization programs.
Former Nigerian president Goodluck Jonathan was criticised for his slow reaction to the Chibok abductions, seen by many as indicative of his response to Boko Haram, which at its strongest
held large swathes of north-eastern Nigeria.

It was nearly a month before a fact-finding committee traveled to Chibok to establish whether the abduction actually happened and how many girls were missing.
Muhammadu Buhari , who defeated Jonathan in an election last year, ordered a new investigation into the kidnappings in January.

Joint operations between Nigeria and its neighbours Niger, Chad and Cameroon succeeded in driving Boko Haram from many of its strongholds in Nigeria last year.
However, as an 8,700-strong regional task force seeks to stamp them out once and for all, the Islamist have stepped up cross-border attacks and suicide bombings, many of them carried
out by young girls.

Will Bafana Bafana continue their dominance over Cameroon?

 bafana fans
Bafana need to at least avoid defeat in Limbe to stay in the race to qualify for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) tournament in Gabon
South Africa have not lost to Cameroon in almost 24 years, but Saturday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier match will be even tougher for them simply because it would be their first visit in Limbe.

Bafana beat their West African opponents on three separate occasions in the past, while there have been three draws between the two nations.
However, of the six matches which the Indomitable Lions failed to beat Bafana, none of those were played in Cameroon, meaning Shakes Mashaba’s men will have to work extra hard to maintain that impressive record.

The only time Cameroon beat Bafana was in July 1992, but with a spot in next year’s Afcon tournament at stake, only fireworks can be expected this coming weekend.
Cameroon top Group M with six points from their opening two matches, while Bafana are bottom of the log with a single point having played the same number of games.

Now, Goal asks if Bafana, who are ranked nine places below Cameroon in the latest Fifa rankings, can continue their dominance against the Indomitable Lions.

Should the Cameroon President Paul Biya run for Elections again?

50th edition of the Youth Day 2-10-2016 Paul Biya
YAOUNDE, CAMEROON — In Cameroon, President Paul Biya’s backers are urging him to move up national elections and seek another term for himself while opponents say his 34 years in power has been more than enough.

On Thursday, both camps staged demonstrations here in the capital, and members of the ruling Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement marked the party’s 31st anniversary by showing support for the president at events across the country.
Here in Younde, supporters sang that Biya is their leader and father and that, at age 83, the man remains sharp enough to be president for as long as he wants.
Charlemagne Messanga Nyamding, a CPDM central committee member, said his party wants Biya to change the constitution and organize early elections. The next presidential poll is scheduled for 2018, and a term is seven years. Biya already revised the constitution in 2008 to remove presidential term limits.

Nyamding said Cameroonians have always loved Biya. He said they continue to believe in the president because he has shown – through experience, courage and determination – that he’s the best person to develop Cameroon and protect it from crisis and security threats.

Opposition efforts

But across town, opposition parties organized protests.
Lawmaker Patricia Ndam Njoya of the Cameroon Democratic Union said the country should concentrate on more pressing matters such as development, reforming the electoral code and defeating Boko Haram. The militant extremist group has been attacking security forces and civilians in the north since last year.

Njoya said she found it curious that, with increasing security threats from Boko Haram terrorists and Central African Republic militants, Biya would be so focused on retaining the presidency for life. She called it a total injustice.
Njoya said opposition groups need to unite behind a single candidate, something they never have been able to do before.
Ruling party central committee member Benoit Ndong Soumet said those who say they don’t see positive steps by Biya are blind and ungrateful.
No end to African strongman era
Biya, who has ruled Cameroon since November 1982, is the oldest African president after Robert Mugabe. The Zimbabwe leader, who turned 92 in February, has headed that country since late 1987.

The end of the African strongman era was predicted back in 2014, when mass protests in Burkina Faso ousted President Blaise Compaore after 27 years in power.
But several countries have proved otherwise.
The longtime leaders of Uganda and the Republic of Congo have just won fresh terms in office, though results of both polls are being contested. Uganda’s Yoweri Museveni has ruled since 1986; Congo’s Denis Sassou Nguesso has led his country since 1979 except for five years in the 1990s.

Rwanda overwhelmingly voted yes in December to change its constitution so President Paul Kagame, who has held office since 2000, could run for as many as three additional terms. And Chadian President Idriss Deby, leader since 1990, looks poised to win a fifth term in April.

Remarks about the show owing to the fact that it was just the second edition was very poor. According to several people, karawa's diary spoke to, they think organization was poor.  The continuous interruption of the show with long talks that were not relevant for the show got so many people present annoyed and disrespect.

Coolkid, whose song has ranked top number one on trace urban was one of the main artists to perform for the second edition of  the industry night alongside Minks. Despite the fact that he had a super slaying performance, he took on social media to express his disgust of how messy the show was. Coolkid also hit his chest to say that even though everything was going wrong for the night his performance was still as hyped as usual thanks to the fans.

Not too good an impression though, but we are assuming that punchline is young and will definitely pick up with time. We can only but hope.

Where Does death matter?

Hundreds of people attend a demonstration in solidarity with the victims of terrorist attacks in and around Paris linked to Wednesday's attack on French satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo, in Johannesburg, South Africa, Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015.
It wasn’t long ago that we were Paris, standing in solidarity against terrorism when it happens in one of the most beautiful, pristine, impeccable places that we can think of. If Paris — the city of locks and towers and baguettes and love, a place for Americans and Europeans to escape to, a symbol of an idyllic world — can be violated, then we lose our security. We lose our presupposed safety. We lose a part of our developed world.

And now, with Brussels, our Western world is threatened again. If they can get Brussels, they can get you. You, in a restaurant, in a subway, in your home. These are places we are used to. These are countries we have been to. These are deaths that matter.
Because it’s easy to show solidarity with cities to which we find similarities. It’s human nature – if someone hurts a person unrelated to you, you are unlikely to care. If someone hurts your classmate, you are more likely to care. That classmate is like you in some way – be it in location, socioeconomic status, or the fact that you know their name and they know yours. There is familiarity.

But one day before Paris, there was a suicide bombing in Beirut that killed 43. One day after Paris, a bombing in Nigeria killed over 34 people. In 2016 mass terrorist attacks have murdered people in Nigeria and Turkey. Over 800 were killed in one chemical attack in Iraq. But Nigeria and Turkey aren’t a part of our world, and we’re used to violence in Iraq.

These things do not register with us in the same way that Paris or Brussels do, either because we do not hear the name of the country enough, or we hear it too often associated with violence. It is as if we only pay attention to those places familiar to us in some positive light. It is as if these are the only places where death matters.

I do not ask that we post a new hashtag for each of the hundreds of attacks that happen each year. I do not ask that we minimize the horror of Paris or Brussels, or the suffering of those affected by the attacks. I do not ask that we cease standing united against terrorism.

I simply ask that we pay attention.
The violence that occurs often in the Middle East matters not despite, but because of its frequency. The violence that occurs in Cameroon matters even though many Americans cannot place Cameroon on a map. The violence in Peshawar matters and keeps happening over and over – but we do not pay attention.

I ask you not to pray for every country, but to be conscious of those attacks that occur worldwide. I ask international news sites to report incidents worldwide and to place articles on the front page if hundreds die, not if hundreds die in a country we were hoping to travel to for summer break. And I ask you to read, to stay informed.
I ask you to care.

Antiretroviral drugs shortage hit Cameroon-NGO

http://www.cameroononline.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/meds-310x165.jpg

Antiretroviral (ARV) drug supplies have dwindled to 42.6 percent in Cameroon from 14 to 18 March 2016, according to the results of a survey published by the Treatment Access Watch Association (TAW) on Wednesday.

The NGO reported that 26.3 percent of centers have bemoaned the unavailability of CD4 crucial for the welfare of AIDS sufferers in the healthcare system.
According to TAW, the number of care-giving centers demanding additional costs for biological follow-up examinations (guidance assessment, clinical assessment, and check-up monitoring), reached an average of 53.9 percent.

The demanded costs for the orientation check have reached the neighbourhood of CFA8, 500, with pre-treatment assessment requiring CFA30, 000 while check-up monitoring goes for CFA37, 500.

In Cameroon which has a population of 22 million people, 660,000 were diagnosed with the disease in 2014, suggesting a prevalence rate of 4.8 percent among adults aged between the ages of 15 and 49, according to UNAIDS figures.
ARV shortages have been frequently reported in the country since 2013.

Roger Milla condemns facebook accounts

Roger Milla, the legend of African football, says he holds no Facebook account, Twitter or WhatsApp. And added to that, he does not recognize any website in his name. That's why Roger Milla  has filed a complaint against X in front of the Cameroonian Justice for identity theft on the Internet, especially on social networks.

"I, Albert Roger Milla, just found out that there are unauthorized persons holding Facebook accounts, websites and other Internet media on behalf of Roger Milla or Albert Roger Milla, and pose for me. Given this situation, I declare, that I hold no Facebook, Twitter or WhatsApp account, or website in my name, apart from those for the exclusive use of my Foundation (Heart of Africa - Roger Milla Foundation)” wrote the former striker of the national team of Cameroon, in a statement published in the daily" Cameroon Tribune ".

Roger Milla stands against especially the use made of such platforms supposed to belong to him. "These people use the Internet media to incite the population to revolt following the unfortunate incident that occurred at Laquintinie hospital in Douala." Alluding to Monique Koumateke case, a news sparked uproar across the country” he said.

In the statement released by Roger Milla, one learns that a star of his caliber is not conducting any Internet communication, who was named African player of the 20th century, who is now ambassador to the Presidency of the Republic. Moreover, denounced Facebook page exists since July 2014 and exceeded the 11 200 fans, yet it is only today that Roger Milla discovers its existence.

The former footballer is not the only public figure in this situation. Recently the Minister of Water and Energy, Basile Atangana Kouna, complaining of an identity theft on social networks, he had said that he has no Facebook account. But one of the solutions to combat these fake accounts on social networks is to create official accounts in good standing, and then to use it to communicate.

CAMEROONIAN HELD DOWN FOR "BLACK DOLLAR FRAUD"

 money india

New Delhi, March 21 : Two men from Africa’s Cameroon and Congo have been arrested for cheating a businessman of Rs.80 lakh on the pretext of cleaning dollars painted with black ink to their original form, police said on Monday.
Kamleu Nya Alain, a 43-year-old from Cameroon, and Mwanza Nawej Yesh, a 42-year-old from Congo, were arrested on Sunday near a hotel in Civil Lines area of north Delhi.
They have been booked on charges of dishonestly receiving stolen property and cheating under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, and also under the Foreigners Act.
Police said both the accused reside in Mehrauli area of south Delhi.
“Alain came to India in May 2015 and was staying here without a valid passport and visa. Yesh has been residing in India for the last three years without a valid passport and visa,” Deputy Commissioner of Police Madhur Verma said.
He said police seized two packets containing black papers, claimed to contain $1 million each, five packets of photocopies of Indian rupees in the denomination of Rs.1,000, two bottles of chemical substances used to clean the black paper and a kit, used for demonstration to clients converting the black paper to white.
The two accused, in connivance with a man named Rozer, who also hails from an African country and is absconding so far, cheated Delhi businessman Aditya Bondwal to the tune of Rs.80 lakh on the pretext of providing him $1 million ‘black dollars’ by cleaning and changing it to the original form.
Police said Alain and Yesh came to India on tourist visas and met Rozer.
“They all planned to cheat Indians through this black dollar fraud. Rozer met Aditya Bondwal in Delhi during the India Africa Summit 2016. Rozer won his confidence and concocted a ‘black dollar’ story,” the officer said.
Rozer showed interest in Bondwal’s business and proposed to invest $1 million.
Rozer told Bondwal that his father Marafa Hamidou Yaya, who used to be the right-hand man of Cameroon President Paul Biya, was in jail since 2012 and all his accounts were blocked. And so he did not have any legal money.
In his next meeting, Rozer told Bondwal he has got $1 million painted with black ink.
Rozer said the money could pass through customs in only in its black form, but it can be changed into its original form by cleaning.
He took Rs.30 lakh from Bondwal in the name of cleaning the black dollars, saying a costly ink and powder were required for the purpose.
He then introduced Bondwal with both Alain and Yesh, saying they were experts in cleaning black dollars, police said.
Bondwal, who is a manufacturer of construction equipment, informed police that Alain and Yesh took Rs.50 lakh more from him.
The accused were asking more money from Bondwal, saying the quality of ink and powder was not that good, and so they needed to get better quality ink and for that purpose, they needed Rs.42 lakh more, police said.

BUFFON SAYS CAMEROONIAN LEGEND INSPIRED HIS GOALKEEPING

At the age of 38, Gianluigi Buffon has achieved yet another milestone in his legendary career, beating the Serie A goalkeeping record for the longest run without conceding a goal.

Thomas Nkono

Needing to go unbeaten in only the first three minutes of Sunday’s Turin derby against Torino to eclipse the previous record of 929 minutes – set by Sebastiano Rossi back in the 1990s – the Juventus keeper did just that. A 2006 world champion with Italy, Buffon eventually extended his run to 974 minutes before being beaten from the spot by Andrea Belotti in the second half, not that it stopped Juve from running out comfortable 4-1 winners.

According to Buffon, the inspiration for his stellar career has been none other than former Cameroon keeper Thomas Nkono, whose exploits at the 1990 FIFA World Cup Italy™ encouraged the young Buffon to try his hand between the posts.

LEONEL MESSI'S STRIKE CAUSES A WOMAN TO PASS OUT

An 18th-minute strike from Lionel Messi during Barca's 2-2 draw with Villareal yesterday caused agony for the Barca ace and a Villareal fan sitting behind the goal posts. The shot went well over the bar and hit a woman on her arm. She appeared in considerable discomfort and passed out. She collapsed for a second time as she was being escorted out for proper medical attention. According to info from Shadowfax

Well, this kept me wondering if Messi's strike still has that much strength over such a long distance or the lady in question was sick? Well Messi is a football god and anything can happen when he is involved. I know you agree with me
