WOMAN CUTS OPEN A LADY TO SAVE UNBORN KIDS AT HOSPITAL DOOR

Cameroon!!!!This is so sad that even people who have sworn to take care of people and safe life are same people leading to the death of poor citizens.
This Happened in Cameroon at the Government hospital in Douala, A pregnant woman with twins died in front of the hospital while in labor. She was refused to be attended to due to some of the poor Cameroonian health practice of "Payment before treatment".Before she gave up to take her sorrowful journey to the world of the death,an inexperienced sister who had no medical expertise tried to safe the twins by cutting her open with a blade but was too late.Who should we criticize here??!. Well she is all death and gone and its no time for blames. The corrupt government or the heartless hospital personnel who let this lady to be snatch away by the cold hands of death should take responsibility. So many question but no answer but one day... The blood of the innocents will flow.RIP DEAR MOTHER

LIST OF 27 NATIONAL TEAM PLAYERS WITH TWO COME-BACKS PUBLISHED

The list of 27 comprises seven new players, one local player and two comebacks.
The new coach of the Indomitable Lions, Hugo Broos published the list of players to defend the national colours in the double confrontation against South Africa on March 26th and 29th counting for the qualifiers for the 2017 AFCON to take place in Gabon. Though the list comprises injured and suspended players, it is realistic and comprehensive given the present context. However the most striking feature on the list is the return of Alexandre Song who had put an end to his international career after the debacle of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. There is also the arrival of three new players who are called up for the very first time to the national selection namely; Abang Anatole, Toko Karl and Teikeu Adolphe.

Defence

The most remarkable absence in the defence is that of Carlos Kameni who underwent a knee surgery after sustaining an injury in a Spanish league game. However, he can be valuably represented by any of the three goalkeepers shortlisted namely; Ndy Assembe, Onana André and Ondoa Fabrice. Onana André has an edge over the others having been more regular on the pitch of play which better statistics than the others.
At the level of the central defence, the boss, Nkoulou Nicolas was called up and can be ably assisted by Aurelien Chedjou. The novelty here is the presence of Teikou Adolpe of Sochaux-France who has been called up for the very first time; the others are regulars with the national team namely; Allan Nyom, Oyongo Bitolo and Sebastien Bassong.

Midfield

Much of the shake up in the squad has been at the level of the midfield with the return of players like Alexandre Song and Landry Nguemo probably to make up for the absence of Enoh Eyong injured and convalescing. The new kid on the block in this compartment of the field is Tchiani Tony who will also be making his debut with the Lions. There is the conspicuous absence of Joel Matip but his brother Marvin Matip was called up for the second time. There are some new players who by their mettle seem to be regulars to the squad like Siani Sebastien, Kom Frank and the old guard led by the team captain, Stephane Mbia. The new kid on the block here is Ngwen Jonathan who is the only local player called up to the squad. Jonathan is probably reaping the fruits of his good performance at the African Nations championship in Rwanda.

Attack

The attack line comprising the Lions lethal force, Aboubakar Vincent who unfortunately will not be able to play the first encounter against South African since he is under suspension for having accumulated yellow cards. However the fitness of the play maker, Choupo Moting is questionable given the fact that he is just returning from injury and has not had time to regain his form before the double confrontation against South Africa. The same holds for Benjamin Moukandjo. However, their lack of form will be compensated by the return of Christian Bekamenga who has regained his goal scoring instinct after a long period of illness and injuries. Hugo Broos could also count on fresh blood coming from Abang Anatole and Karl Toko who will be making their debut with the Lions.

A BOOK PUBLISHED BY AN IMPRISONED FORMER MINISTER HAS RISEN HEATED DEBATE...IT WILL AMAZE YOU (read)

Urbain Olanguena Awono
Urbain Olanguena Awono
YAOUNDE — In Cameroon, a book published March 7 by an imprisoned former government minister has sparked heated debate. The book’s author, along with some fellow politicians and rights activists, say the government is using its crackdown on corruption as a pretext to target potential political rivals of longtime President Paul Biya.
At least two dozen former government officials have been arrested in Cameroon in the past eight years, including several ex-ministers and heads of state-owned corporations. Ex-Health Minister Urbain Olanguena Awono said in his book, titled Mensonges d’Etat (or Lies of the State), that he and other detainees are “prisoners of conscience.”
Other detainees have recently published letters in local media saying their arrests and long detentions are politically motivated.
The roundup has become known locally as “Operation Sparrowhawk,” referring to a predator that hunts and eats other smaller birds.
But Cameroon’s government spokesman, Issa Tchiroma Bakary, said at a news conference Thursday that people have been erroneously accusing the government of witch hunting, abuse of legal procedures and political persecution, whereas the president is simply asking those arrested to account for public funds.
Biya is not and never will be afraid of political competition to the level that he arrests his opponents, Bakary said, adding that detained officials were plotting to challenge state authority.

Embezzlement charges

Awono is serving a 20-year jail sentence. He was arrested and convicted of corruption and embezzlement in 2008, the same year Biya changed the constitution to allow him to run for two more terms in office.
Local press had reported at the time that Awono and his senior staff were plotting to oust Biya.
Awono’s defense counsel, Barrister Andrew Litumbe, denied the allegation.
“Paul Biya is like — I cannot even term him a dictator. He is a super dictator,” Litumbe said.
Last year, Cameroon’s justice minister, Laurent Esso, said $4 million of public funds had been recovered so far, though he did not give further details. The state estimates as much as $152 million in public funds has been stolen.
Cameroonian law states that corruption suspects can be detained and have travel documents seized while investigations are ongoing.

‘Supra president’

At least four corruption detainees have died in prison. Family members told VOA they did not receive proper medical attention.
Only 15 of the at least two dozen ex-officials arrested since 2008 have been charged, according to human rights activist Robert Mbile.
“It is in rare countries like Cameroon where you find a president who is the head of the armed forces, the judiciary, the government and everything,” Mbile asid. “So he is a supra, a supra president. He appoints the judges, even the constitutional council he has to lord on it. Biya has been taking care only of his chair and nothing else. The interest of the people is nothing to him.”
The government counters that lengthy judicial processes and difficulties tracing embezzled funds in foreign banks have made investigations long and cumbersome.
Biya’s mandate ends in 2018, but his supporters have been calling publicly on the 83-year-old leader to organize elections sooner and run again.

Yannick Noah gets involved in FCfa 60 billion real estate project in Cameroon

...

The French firm MG Constructions, of which one of the seniors partners is none other than French-Cameroonian tennisman YannicK Noah (photo), has just launched the marketing operation of the Cité des cinquantenaires according to the Vefa principle (sale of property for future completion).
This is a real estate project which will be set up as a block of over 500 high-standing accommodations, with“roof top swimming pool, split level apartments, sprawling patios, underground car packs, shopping centre, fitness centres and banquet halls, a majestic vista over a magnificent park, etc.”, according to the description given by MG Constructions.
The project, which blueprints were designed by the architecture firm Bisseck, explains Guillaume-Edima Atangana, Public Relations Manager at MG Constructions, is carried out in partnership with the Communauté urbaine de Yaoundé, the office of the Mayor of the Cameroonian capital.
The construction of the Cité des cinquantenaires according to the same source, will also profit from the support of the Cameroon government authorities, particularly the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development and the Office of the Prime Minister.
The Cité des cinquantenaires will be built on a land for public purpose in the Djoungolo area of the Cameroonian capital. This is according to sources close to the project a global investment of FCfa 60 billion, which will be financed by the contributions of partners as well as bank loans.
The first buyers would also contribute to the financing of the initial works. Indeed, though the Vefa marketing recommends that the building contractor only be paid after completion of the works, the potential buyer still pays 5% of the selling price at the signing of the booking contract witnessed by the notary, then 5% during the signing of the sale contract in the presence of same notary.

THE MYSTERY IN THE WOMEN’S DAY FABRIC (wrapper)

8th of March is celebrated as international women’s day if you have not noticed by now. It’s rather amazing to find the wide disparity that comes to the celebration part of it. I thought of writing this article because I was so concerned with the way Cameroonian women celebrate this day. International women’s day as I know is a day put aside for women to commemorate the womanhood and build a platform to empower the woman. Commemorating means identifying the abuse on women or the challenges faced by women and giving solution to those challenges. It means a day set aside to remind the woman that they too can be of positive influence in the society especially playing a role in those activities assumed to be allocated just for men.

For a couple of years now, Cameroon has been taking part in the women’s day celebration as well. The whole celebration thing kind of went wild dating back like three years ago. I think for some reason, the actual existence of the essence of the women’s day has been forgotten and the fabric used (wrapper) has been idolized more for the case of Cameroon. It will amaze you to note that some families basically break up on

8th march in Cameroon for reasons such as a husband could not buy the women’s day fabric for the wife or the husband will not let the wife go out celebrating with other women just to name a few. Well, in recent times, broken homes are just a tip of an iceberg of everything that happens on this day. The celebration is getting dirtier by the day as women deliberately expose their nakedness promoting nudity even without the influence of alcohol. Beer parlors are air tight and crowded with women on numerous amount of bottles, some drunk and passed out and Well you might want to say that not all Cameroonian women celebrate as such. However, those who celebrate as depicted by this article are Cameroonians all the same.
This year’s celebration was not any different in Cameroon, all the crazy stuff and the madness that let to road accidents. All these made me ponder if same approach is given to the celebration in every part of the world. I had to ask a couple of Karawa’s Diary Readers and this is what a few had to say:

THIS IS HOW IT IS CELEBRATED (left out the really sensitive photos)

TINA WINA (UNITED KINGDOM)
Women’s day in UK is like a charity. I don’t think so much is celebrated on women’s day. They are aware it does exist but so much attention is not given to it. However I think it’s because the Sunday that always occurs before women’s day is celebrated as mother’s day as such so much attention is not given to women’s day. However, it is commemorated and it’s a normal day and every activity goes on as usual

EM JAY (GERMANY)
The intl day of the woman in various parts of the world is for cultural and other reasons is perceived and celebrated differently. Unlike in Cameroon, where a special clothing design is being set for the day and match sessions organized among other activities, in the western world, the day, although highly recognized, is comparatively celebrated in a less amusable/lively manner. And it's worse if the day falls within the week because people chase their usual activities normally
Someone like me even forget or only get notified from the Internet
Actually No remarkable activity marks this day in this particular Germany

KELLY KELLY (USA)
Its not that big honestly, not like in  Cameroon or other European country's, people say happy women's day and all but I guess it just depends on where it i/
But some places celebrate it well tho, they have a whole parade, and make a big deal about women's.And this people are ostly the human right activist. But its a generally another day

LAURA K (SOUTH AFRICA)
women's day is just another day here. No special outfit or anything not even a public holiday

MICHELLE O (UK)

According to me women's day isn't a day to be celebrated in Cameroon. Why can the government not ban it? This is just a day where only blood is shed; more problems are added in relationships and women thinking they can do whatever they want. Like i said my point of view from what I’ve observed. It's in Cameroon that you find our fellow sisters and mothers doing the direct opposite the team talks about. On this day while others make gain with the materials being bought, others split up in their homes. The 8th of March is and will always be a normal day to me. How many women practice this theme? How many do something in line with this theme? People are dying every day, others are sick, some homeless and if 1/5th just 1/5th of our fellow women decide to sacrifice what they spend on the materials they buy, the beers the drink, the transport they'll definitely spend going from a place to another won’t at least one person be safe . With All said i pray we make a change and show one another we can make something better out of this day by empowering and helping not showing us your nudity and amount of negative things you can do.

Funny right?Funny how it seems the Cameroonian women are basically taking the celebration differently. Its alright to celebrate but how you celebrate is very important. What if the women's day fabric was taken off from the women's day plan of celebration of Cameroon? Do you think women will face the day differently? Can u conclude that all the misconduct results from the simple piece of clothe?

THE VIDEO OF THE WEEK (WATCH HERE) P.I.M BOYS

The CPE team is basically one of the best team so far as far as movie and music video production and directing are concerned. The Crew headed by DR. Nkeng Stephens actually did proof their worth on the recently released video ICI AU KAMER by the P.I.M BOYS.

The video has scenes of the military at the war front, depicting the intense gun firing and the tension that happens at the war front. This video is a most watch video. This is the first official release video by the P.I.M BOYS and they have definitely made a mad and epic first impression with this song.

ICi AU KAMER was produced by the beat maker and award winning producer Edi LeDrae. He has worked with a couple of well-known artists and has produced so many hit songs as well. His ingenuous work on this song could not be over emphasized. The song is dedicated to the fallen heroes at the war front he fell while fighting to protect their own from the prevalent terrorism. The song is super timely and u won’t leave without watching. This is the VIDEO OF THE WEEK ACCORDING TO KARAWA’S DIARY

CLINTON N'JIE SAID TO BE NEARING RETURN FROM KNEE INJURY

Clinton N’Jie is nearing his return to the Tottenham first-team after more than two months out with a knee injury.
The Cameroon international, who signed from Lyon last summer, underwent surgery on his medial collateral ligament (MCL) in his right knee in December.
He has not played since the Europa League group stage victory at home to Monaco on December 10 and has made just 13 appearances all season.
But N’Jie returned to fitness work outdoors this week and hopes to make an impact as Spurs chase a first title in 55 years.
“It’s important for me to come back and join the team because they’re doing a great job,” he said.
“Mentally it hasn’t been easy. It’s been tough but I’ve been working very, very hard with the doctors and medical staff to get myself fit.
“Injuries happen, so I’ve just been looking forward to coming back stronger. I can see the good job the guys are doing and I can’t wait to get back onto the pitch and be part of it.
“It’s important that I’m still hungry, I still want to play and I still want to prove to the fans what I can do so, for me, I just want to get back fit and do a good job.”
N’Jie has been sharing a treatment room with centre-back Jan Vertonghen – Spurs’ vice-captain – who has been suffering with a knee injury of his own.
And N’Jie said: “Since Jan got injured he’s been there for me and trying to encourage me. All the players have been really good and I really appreciate that.
“But it’s not only the players – the gaffer, all the staff, everyone has been there to encourage me and to tell me that they want me to be back as fast as possible. That’s been great encouragement.”

SEE CAMEROON'S RANK IN THE WORLD AND IN AFRICA AS FAR AS GLOBALIZATION IS CONCERNED

globalization

(Business in Cameroon) – The École Polytechnique Fédérale de Zurich (EPFZ) publicly revealed, on 4 March 2016, its 2016 ranking of the most globalised countries in the world, which reflects the level of economic, social and political globalisation in 192 countries throughout the world. Cameroon takes the 151st spot in the world, and 38th in Africa.
In the CEMAC area, Cameroon is preceded by Gabon (112nd worldwide and 14th in Africa) and the Republic of Congo (134th worldwide and 25th in Africa). The three other CEMAC countries being Chad (170th worldwide and 44th in Africa), the Central African Republic (47th in Africa and 175th worldwide) and Equatorial Guinea (52nd in Africa and 190th worldwide) are among the last 10 of this ranking dominated in Africa by Morocco, Mauritius and South Africa; and by the Netherlands, Ireland and Belgium at the world level.
According to the authors, the economic aspect of the globalisation in this ranking takes into account criteria such as the importance of trade, investments and cross-border income against the gross domestic product (GDP), as well as the impact of trade barriers and restrictions on flow of capitals.
The social dimension of globalization, we learned, is here measured based on personal cross-border contacts in the form of telephone calls and post mail; tourist flows and the importance of resident foreign population; the flows of cross-border information from internet, television and foreign press; as well as exports and imports of books against the GDP.
The political dimension of globalisation is measured by the number of foreign embassies in a country, the number of international organisations to which the country belongs, the number of UN peace missions to which the country contributed and the number of bilateral and multilateral agreements signed by the country since 1945.
