Cameroon:Buea based startup,Agro-Hub wins the CSVPrize2016 of about 180million+ CFA


The winner of the Creating Shared Value Prize for 2016 is Agro-Hub from Cameroon.
The organisation has successfully linked smallholder cassava farmers to markets.

Nestlé CEO Paul Bulcke presented the CHF 300,000 prize to Agro-Hub at the Creating Shared Value Forum in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. It was a time for jubilation in Cameroon at Chariot Hotel when the announcement was made.

Natural Extracts Industries, a social enterprise from Tanzania, was the runner-up and receives CHF 200,000 for pioneering the sustainable extraction of vanilla in Tanzania.

AGRO-HUB was founded in 2009 as a Common Initiative Group (CIG) with headquarter in Buea. AGRO-HUB was later upgraded to a Cooperative Society Limited with Board of Directors in 2013.
AGRO-HUB currently employs 8 and networks with a pool of experts and consultants from the fields of Agriculture, Food Processing, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, Finance, ICT and Graphics Design.

AGRO-HUB has direct access to nearly 2,000 farmers in Fako Division through their farmer cooperative body and can access over 8,000 farmers in the South West Region indirectly through agricultural extension workers who are part of our partner network.
We share an office space with Zinger Systems Co. Ltd. in a serene Buea neighborhood where we enjoy hangouts, playing, working, taking risks and changing the world together.
