The White Queen of Bagangte dies at 73
Claude Bergeret died this Monday, July 11, 2016 at the age of 73 years in Cameroon from an illness.
Claude Bergeret Njike, popularly called "Nteuh Shune", was the widow of the traditional chief of Bangangté, the late François Pokam Njike.
She was presented by the specialists of the Cameroonian culture, as one who loved the bamiléké, the country and its traditions.
Born June 5, 1943 in Douala regional capital of Littoral,by Protestant missionary parents.Claude Bergeret became queen after her marriage in 1978, with the king of Bangangté Bangangté Francois Njiké
Her husband died on 7 December 1987 yet she did leave Cameroon or her husband's people.
Claude Bergeret Njike, has written several books on the Bamileke culture, including "My African passion (1997)" and "The wisdom of my village" (in 2000).
