VINCENT ABOUBAKAR SIGHTED BY LEICESTER CITY
Cameroon's and Porto,s own striker Vincent Aboubakar is being linked with a January transfer to Premier League high-flyers Leicester City.
Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri is wary that 15-goal top scorer Jamie Vardy is now starting to feel the strain of being relied on, along with winger Riyad Mahrez, to keep the side battling it out at the top end of the Premier League table this season.
The 28-year-old England international is also currently sidelined for up to 10 days because he required minor surgery on a groin problem. As a result Ranieri is scouring the market for a player who can come into the King Power Stadium this month and share the burden of scoring goals for his second-placed outfit.
And it appears Cameroon international Aboubakar, who has scored nine goals in 20 appearances this season for a Porto side sitting second in the Portuguese top division, is his top target. The 23-year-old also has experience of playing in France’s Ligue 1 and scored 17 goals in the 2013-14 season for Lorient before moving to Porto in summer 2014.
