Little used in West Ham midfielder returned to FC Barcelona hoping it will be something better.
Alexandre Song is no longer part of the workforce of West Ham in recent weeks. The English club has indeed released the Cameroonian after two years of loan.

The midfielder returned to FC Barcelona, which is linked to 2017. Ever since his arrival in Spain in 2012, the former Arsenal player has been managing to get a place. This was made evident as competition was rather fierce in this sector with the arrival of Ivan Rakitic and Alex Vidal.

And the chances that  Barça guards him this season are slim, if not non-existent. Clearly, the player will have to find a new club this season if he wants to recover. Turkish clubs were interested but so far no one has really made any proposal.

A situation that hopefully for the player, will not last long as he certainly thought he had found a base at West Ham. It must be said that the adventure started well from that side in 2014. On loan for one year, Alexandre Song had a good season by playing 28 games, including 25 as a starter.

Everyone was expectatnt as the Hammers’ sought  it for another year at FC Barcelona. This time, they had an option to purchase if they were satisfied. But during the offseason, the player was injured and was unavailable for several months. This did not delight the club so he was put on the  bench in his return from injury for a while before they separated recently.
