Karawa’s Diary made a brief analysis of this year’s national day celebration. We wanted to focus our attention on the very weird happenings of today both on social media and other media such as the TV. The results were crazy and worth talking about so we had to let you know and know your opinion.

Karawa’s Diary had to put out the top 5 shocking happenings today. These happenings are not in any order per say but you will definitely agree with me that they are shocking (shocking? Maybe because it was not expected to happen that way).

1.CRTV Goes Gaga: Cameroon Radio and Television is the national TV station of Cameroon that is entrusted with relaying the images from the nation’s capital as concerns the happenings of the National Day celebration. What was weird today about their broadcasting? What was really shocking about CRTV was the fact that the journalists today went all crazy talking on each other as if everyone wanted to be heard. Really? On national TV?. It kept me wondering what they were fighting for. Can everyone not have his/her talking time? To add Soar to injury, Images kept disconnecting (not as if this is strange though). See the social media reactions.
2. National Band’s Songs:  During the match pass demonstration, there is always the presence of the National Band in Yaounde that takes care of the songs that are used for matching. You know what was amazing about the Band today? They played Mr. Leo’s On Va Gere. As shocking as it sounds, it was amazing to know that the National Band could consider playing the song of this young Buea based artists who is on hills to the very top. It only says that the music industry is beginning to take over.Yes; social media definitely had their own say. See on the tweets below.

3. The President’s Car: If this article was in order of merits, this point will top the list. The president’s vehicle broke down today at the 20 May celebration in Yaounde. This was not only shocking but insane. How could this happen. Read more and see pics here about this
This twitter reaction got me laughing

4. Nigerian Soldiers: So, just because we are fighting Boko haram together means they can join us in celebrating this day that is so ours right? Ha-ha, am just kidding. It was shocking though to have Nigerian soldiers match amidst Cameroonian soldiers to celebrate today. Someone twitted on this too.
5.20 May Twitter Trend: This will amaze you but it’s true. Did you know that the hash tag #20Mai2016 was the top trend on twitter today? This means that for the first time our national day celebration calls world attention with the help of social media. It also means that several Cameroonians both in and out of the Country are getting so technologically inclined to have been twitting about this all the way. Apart from this celebration being the top trend, we also had the hash tag #CRTV and Paul Biya trending. Yes, it was shocking but amazing.

I guess you enjoyed our analysis. Let Karawa’s Diary know what you think while we leave you with the song On Va Gere by Mr. Leo to enjoy.
