Eto'o responses to his allerged transfer rumours to the African league, Morocco

Former FC Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o has commented on rumours linking him with a shock move to one of Africa’s biggest clubs.

The former Cameroon international, who was in great form for Turkish side Antalyaspor this season, has now been linked with a move to continental giants Wydad Casablanca, Morocco’s most succesful team with 13 league titles to their name.

However, the 35-year-old has rubbished these rumours, via his Facebook page, with the following statement:
“Several media have communicated about a potential transfer to Wydad Casablanca lately.
“Despite my great love for Morocco in particular and Africa in general, that information is not accurate.
“I wish you an excellent Sunday, and once again watch out for false information!”

Eto’o scored 20 goals and assisted a further six strikes in 31 league games for Antalyaspor this season, helping his promoted side to climb to ninth place.

It was confirmed earlier this week that the African legend will host a charity game in Turkey on 16 July.
He has reportedly invited stars such Lionel Messi, Neymar, Luis Suarez, Diego Maradona, Eden Hazard, Andres Iniesta and Didier Drogba to be part of his dream team, which will face a Turkish selection.
